The original Dermaroller is a medical roller applied with lots of tiny microsurgical pins. These tiny (1.5 mm long) and very thin pins are rolled across the location of treatment. In the course of the Dermaroller treatment, 250 tiny pricks are made on each centimetres of the skin surface to be treated with a roller covered with sharp pins.
The Dermaroller is a highly efficient device used for transdermal delivery of active cosmeceutical ingredients as well as skin rejuvenation resulting in 70 – 80% improvement of wrinkles, sun damage and stretch-marks with minimal side effects. The Beauty Mouse is used to improve skin texture. The Beauty Mouse consists of 3 rollers with micro needles. It is therefore suitable for large surfaces like belly, back, thigh and buttocks. The micro needles have a positive influence on the blood circulation as well as on the microcirculation. They therefore reduce the lymphedema and improve the appearance of cellulite. The Beauty Mouse has 396 needles with a length of 0.2 mm.
Dermaroller is a medical roller with hundreds of tiny needles arranged around it.
As the roller passes the skin the needles work by prickling the skin, this produces tiny microneedle punctures in the skin. The skin is effectively tricked into repairing itself in its natural process with the production of collagen and cell renewal in the dense inner layer of the skin.
To achieve a successful reduction of acne scarring and other conditions such as enlarged pores and fine lines, a minimum depth of 1.0-1.5mm is required which can only be administered in a professional clinical environment. Although home use dermarollers are available (0.2-0.3mm) on the market, these do not penetrate deep enough into the skin to achieve a significant result. At Laserlife Clinic, we only use a professional depth of at least 1.0mm for acne scarring.
After the procedure your skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way as a moderate sunburn. You will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch.
This will diminish greatly after a few hours following the treatments and within the next 48 hours your skin will be completely healed. After 2 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place. The length of downtime and recovery time depends on the micro-needle size used for treatment.
You will be informed about your predicted post-treatment appearance during consultation.
Visible signs of scar, pores and line reduction are seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and continue for up to a year.
A course of 3 sessions, at 6-8 week intervals, is usually recommended for PureRoller treatments above 1.0mm to achieve optimum results; however, you will notice great skin improvement after just one treatment. For PureRoller treatment using 0.5mm, a course of 6 sessions is recommended.,
Used with a topical anaesthetic cream (Dermaheal Topical Solutions), it is a pain-free treatment, lasting approximately 15 minutes with same day recovery.
